DAY 01: MONKEY ISLAND
We’ll arrive in Puerto Maldonado, Peru’s capital of biodiversity. Following
pickup at the airport, our trip begins with a tour of the city by private
bus.
We’ll continue to Capitanía, a small river port, where we’ll board a motorized
boat to cross the Madre de Dios River. As the trip progresses, we’ll become
immersed in the natural surroundings of the jungle while observing the ronsoco,
caimans, turtles, herons, cormorants and other animal species.
We’ll arrive at the Ecoamazonia Lodge and enjoy an exquisite welcome drink. Then,
we’ll settle into our bungalows and have lunch.
In the afternoon, accompanied by our specialized guide, we’ll visit MONKEY
ISLAND, a unique place at the heart of the Madre de Dios River—just 5 minutes
from the lodge. Along the way, we’ll take in the extraordinary landscapes and
exuberant flora that are home to a variety of monkey species. These monkey
species include maquisapas, capuchins, lion monkeys, puffins and cotos, along
with other animal species like the coati, sloth, and a great diversity of birds.
We’ll complete our visit of the island while enjoying the sunset—the most
impressive moment of any day in the jungle. Then, we’ll return to the lodge to
end the day with a pleasant dinner.

We’ll wake up to the delightful song of birds in the surrounding canopy. After
breakfast, we’ll start our excursion with a walk deep into the jungle, making
our way along specially-prepared paths and canyon bridges. During our walk,
we’ll see Caimans’ Cave, and as we continue along, we’ll arrive at majestic LAKE
APU VICTOR, with its crystal clear waters, surrounding jungle marshes, and giant
tree species. Further along the way, we’ll ascend to an observation point that
opens up a spectacular panorama over the lake. We’ll observe parrots, guacamayos
(aras), tucans, camungo, shanshos, herons and other animals such as caimans,
turtles. If we’re lucky, we may even glimpse the giant otter, the jungle’s most
impressive animal. After several hours, we’ll return to the lodge to enjoy an
afternoon lunch.
GAMITANA RIVER: On this excursion, it is important to take a hat along, as well
as sun-block and a swimming suit. We’ll also be able to fish and take a dip in
the river before returning to the lodge for dinner.

otters, caimans, turtles, sachavacas, birds of every color, the majestic jaguar
and a variety of fish. This unique area, as it belongs to the Ecoamazonia
Reserve, remains utterly intact, with large marshes and natural springs. We’ll
ascend to and extraordinary vantage point, from which we’ll have a chance to
observe the magical jungle, followed by a pleasant canoe ride around the lake.
We’ll return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, we offer an optional
visit to the botanical gardens. If you’d rather relax, you can enjoy the
Amazonian Pool and dinner.

insects. We’ll also be able to fish and take a quick dip in the river. We’ll
return to the lodge and end the day with a pleasant dinner.

DAY 03: PALMA REAL
After breakfast, we’ll take a downstream boat trip for about 2 hours on the
Madre de Dios River. Along the riverbanks, we’ll be able to observe a variety of
flora and fauna as well as local gold-diggers. Afterward, we’ll pay a visit to
the nearby indigenous community located in PALMA REAL. The village is a semi-modern
group that still maintains many of their original customs, myths and rituals. In
the Huarayos’ human settlement we’ll discover a place of secrets, wisdom and
harmonious interaction between man and the jungle, an integral part of a whole
that the villagers call “world”.
Our guide will tell us about the people’s lifestyle, their notion of time marked
by the Sun, the Moon, and water. He’ll tell us about a place where human beings,
plants, animals and rivers interact in a compact world and therefore, for the
people of the village, everything carries a message. Finally, we’ll have a
chance to purchase some of the crafts produced in the village and later, we’ll
begin our return.
We’ll enjoy lunch on board our river boat, then pass by the Palma Real Gorge, a
beautiful landscape and natural attraction. Later on, we’ll return to the lodge
to have dinner.

AYAHUASCA
Ecoamazonia Lodge offers you access to exclusive sites while engaging in a
mysterious experience in the very heart of the jungle. Accompanied by the area’s
native people (shaman) and the Ayahuasca plant, you’ll be introduced to a
superior world, a spiritual power, and a different and unknown dimension. The
Ayahuasca is one hundred percent healing, and it a great sensitizer of the body.
During the Ayahuasca experience, you’ll gain a heightened sense of your own
health, the state of your work, plans for the future, and more…
The Ayahuasca Masters, or shamans, we work with are the best in the Amazon.
They’ll help you solve the problems of daily life; they cure addiction to drugs,
alcohol and other vices, and they offer every support to you during your
experience in the Amazon jungle’s most sacred places.
DAY 01: PUERTO MALDONADO – ECOAMAZONIA LODGE
We’ll pick you up from the airport and take a brief tour of the city and central
market. Afterward, we’ll head to the port, board our motorized boat, and cross
the Madre de Dios River to the Ecoamazonia Lodge. After an exquisite welcome
drink, we’ll help you settle into your traditional bungalows. In the afternoon,
we’ll visit Monkey Island.
DAY 02: AYAHUASCA SESSION
After breakfast, we’ll take a relaxing jungle walk near the lodge in order to
center ourselves.
After lunch, we’ll take part in an orientation with the Ayahuasca Master (Shaman).
He will tell us how to make the Ayahuasca experience as effective as possible.
At 8:00 pm (without dinner), a meditation session will commence, and our Shaman
Master will guide us through the spiritual purification, cleansing and healing
work that will last through midnight.
DAY 03: NATURAL BATH
We’ll begin the day with breakfast, rest and meditation. After lunch we’ll make
an afternoon visit to the gorge in order to enjoy a natural bath in the Amazon
rainforest’s crystal clear waters. Then, we’ll return to the lodge.
DAY 04:
Breakfast and transfer to the airport.

Ornithology, the study and observation of birds, is a special
fascination for observers and there are a great number of people who, though not
ornithologists by professions, decide to see with their own eyes the vast
diversity of bird species that live in the area.
Ecoamazonia Lodge and its Ecological Natural Reserve offer the perfect place for
anyone that likes bird-watching. Our reserve shelters a great variety of bird
species whose shapes and colors make for a joyful, intense and elegant
attraction.
We invite the observer to add to his/her list of sighted birds while making new
discoveries about bird behavior and ecology, as well as simply enjoying watching
them.
We offer many exclusive and strategic bird-watching sites including: Monkey
Island, platforms on the Lost Lake, on Lake Apu Victor, as well as other places
such as river beaches and water springs.
